Caraway

cumino

Natural herb tea, a mix of grappa of Trentino and caraway seeds. The caraway grows in the mountain grasses. Do not confuse it with the cumin, a plant that produces a similar fruit with a different aroma.

The plant is similar in appearance to other members of the carrot family, with finely divided, feathery leaves with thread-like divisions, growing on20–30 cm stems. The main flower stem is 40–60 cm tall, with small white or pink flowers in umbels that bloom from May to September. It grows in the mountain grasses.

In July and August, the seeds are ready to be harvested. They are perfumed, spicy, sour, slightly bitterish and very lingering.
